Carol Ann and Cathy
have received the prestigious honor of
“The International Teacher’s Excellence Award”

Cathy joined us from the Gymboree Play and Music Center and everyone is scrambling to get into her classes! Cathy’s background has always been in music and children. She is one of seven children all from musical parents who encouraged them to promote their gifts. Cathy has been singing since she was 7 years old. She has done musical theater and drama as well as private parties and television shows. Cathy has worked with inner city children as well as children of privilege. As an adult Cathy has worked in television productions. She produced 30-second commercials for cable TV. She has received many awards over the years for her dedication to helping children of all ages. When her three children grew up, she missed them so much she became involved with teaching music to children. Cathy has been teaching music for many years in her local community. She loves being a music educator. In her first year of Kindermusik she achieved Maestro making her one of the top 5% educators in the world.  Cathy continues to achieve Maestro year after year. We are proud to call her friend and colleague.

Kindermusik is a world-renowned program that was developed for your children to experience the magic of music. She looks forward to teaching music to little children with their moms and dads each and every day. Cathy has made the Kindermusik program an amazing experience for all the children to remember for years to come.  Music has become the cornerstone of pre school education today.

My name is Angela Cabrera Palacios, and I was born in Bogotá, Colombia. I lived there most of my life, and my family and I moved to the United States of America in 2005.   Juliana is my beautiful daughter and I also have a wonderful husband, Manuel, who is very supportive and helpful with my Kindermusik Dreams. 

St. Thomas University located in Bogotá, Colombia is where I received my Bachelors Degree in Psychology. The last 5 five years have been spent working with children of all ages, and I have loved every minute of it!  I have been a first grade and K-4 and K-5 teacher in Broward County, as well as working with the ESOL program. 

People have described me as being, warm, caring, funny, enthusiastic, and having a lot of great energy.  I am very conscientious, and I am thrilled to be able to work with children in the Kindermusik program because it gives me the ability to combine my two passions: kids and music!

It is my belief that my best place in the world is within that profession in which I can help many individuals, especially small children, and make a positive difference in their lives and our society, for the next generation, and generations to come.

As of August of 2010 Carol Ann has moved to San Diego California and will be in touch when she begins Kindermusik on the West Coast! 

Carol Ann and Cathy have been friends in life and music for years. They have both taught Gymboree Music, and have performed on stage together for many a delighted crowd. Their biggest fundraiser concert ever, was for MADD – Mothers Against Drunk Drivers and they are happy to finally be working side-by-side as Kindermusik educators.

Carol Ann is the founder of Shake Rattle and Roll and Kindermusik and More. Miss Carol Ann has been working with young children and music for over 15 years. Carol Ann was the head teacher for pre-schools in California and she created the first camp for toddlers at the prestigious Rolling Hills Club in Marin County, California.

After receiving the International Teachers Excellence Award in 1997 she began teaching music programs for Gymboree in Boca Raton, West Palm Beach and Juno Beach. Miss Carol Ann has taught kindermusik at the Jewish Community Center, Wee Care at Cason United Methodist Church, Cat’s Gymnastics, Sugar Sand Park Community Center and the James A. Rutherford Community Center in Boca Raton.

A resident of Delray Beach, Carol Ann regularly performs her ?Shake, Rattle & Roll? interactive concerts for children and families. Children and adults dance and laugh with delight as she wows her audience with the high energy, magical show. She has appeared at Sunfest, Borders Books & Music, the Old Schoolhouse Museum, Sugar Sand Park, Patch Reef Park, Deco Drive (Fox Miami show) and many other events from Palm Beach to Miami.

Carol Ann attended Lasell Junior College in Massachusetts for two years and then graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in theater and communications from the University of Northern Colorado. Ms Birtwell was a marketing representative for IBM in Worcester Ma., before she began her career as a teacher of young children. Her latest endeavors took her to calcutta India where she performed a km concert for 100 blind children at the DF Blind school.
